Treasury of Atreus

c. 1250 BCE · 13th century BCE · Also known as Tomb of Agamemnon

The Treasury of Atreus is a monumental tholos tomb at Mycenae in southern Greece, built around 1250 BCE. Its corbelled stone dome, over 13 metres high, was the largest in the world for more than a thousand years. The names linking it to Atreus or Agamemnon are later traditions, and it was robbed long before modern excavation.
