Treasury of Minyas

13th century BCE · 13th century BCE · Also known as Tomb of Minyas

The Treasury of Minyas is a Mycenaean tholos tomb at Orchomenos in Boeotia, Greece, named after the legendary king Minyas. Dating from the 13th century BCE, it is one of the largest tholos tombs in Greece, comparable to the Treasury of Atreus at Mycenae. Its side chamber has a stone ceiling carved with spirals and rosettes. Heinrich Schliemann excavated it in the 1880s.
