Triple Entente
The Triple Entente was the informal alignment of France, Russia and Britain formed in the years before the First World War. It developed from the Franco-Russian alliance and Britain's agreements with France in 1904 and Russia in 1907. Accounts of the German Empire treat German fears of encirclement by the Entente powers as a factor in the diplomacy and war that led to the empire's collapse.
