Troad
The Troad is the historical name of the Biga Peninsula in north-western Anatolia, now in Turkey, bounded by the Dardanelles and the Aegean Sea. It was the land of Troy, and from the early first millennium BCE Aeolian Greek cities such as Mytilene founded settlements on its coast. It later belonged to the Persian, Hellenistic, Roman and Ottoman empires.
