Tsewang Dorji Namjal

r. 1745–1750 · 18th century

Tsewang Dorji Namjal was khan of the Dzungars from 1745 to 1750, succeeding his father Galdan Tseren while still a youth. His erratic rule alienated the nobility, and in 1750 he was overthrown and blinded by his half-brother Lama Dorji. His fall began the succession struggles that left the khanate open to the Qing conquest of 1755–1757.
