Tuluva dynasty
The Tuluva dynasty was the third ruling house of the Vijayanagara Empire, founded when Vira Narasimha, son of the general Narasa Nayaka, took the throne in 1505. Under his brother Krishnadevaraya (r. 1509–1529) the empire reached its height. Later Tuluva kings were dominated by the regent Aliya Rama Raya, and after the defeat at Talikota in 1565 the Aravidu family took over.
