Udayamati
Udayamati was a queen of the Chaulukya king Bhima I of Gujarat in the 11th century. She commissioned the Rani ki Vav at Patan, a monumental stepwell in memory of her husband, richly carved with hundreds of sculptures of Vishnu's avatars and other deities. Silted up for centuries and excavated in the 20th century, it is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
