Union of Horodło

1413 · 15th century

The Union of Horodło was a set of acts signed at Horodło on the Bug on 2 October 1413 by King Władysław II Jagiełło and Grand Duke Vytautas. It renewed the union of Poland and Lithuania while keeping a separate Lithuanian grand duke. Forty-seven Catholic Lithuanian noble families were adopted into Polish heraldic clans, and Lithuania was reorganised into the voivodeships of Vilnius and Trakai.
