USS Missouri

The USS Missouri was a United States Navy battleship of the Iowa class, commissioned during the Second World War. On 2 September 1945 the formal Japanese surrender was signed aboard it in Tokyo Bay. Accounts of the Empire of Japan treat the surrender ceremony as the end of the empire's war and of its imperial project.
