Utik
Utik was a province of ancient Armenia on the right bank of the Kura river, between Artsakh and the river. After the partition of Armenia around 387 it passed to Caucasian Albania, which gained its chief city Partav, later Barda, the Albanian capital from the late fifth century. Its Christians later drew close to the Armenian Church, while the plains were Islamised after the Arab conquest.
