Victor Lieberman

b. 1945 · 20th century

Victor Lieberman is an American historian of South-East Asia at the University of Michigan. His Burmese Administrative Cycles (1984) studied the Toungoo state, and his two-volume Strange Parallels (2003–2009) compared state formation in mainland South-East Asia with that of Europe, Russia, Japan and China, arguing that they followed similar long-term patterns of integration.
