Hluttaw
The Hluttaw was the royal council of chief ministers in pre-colonial Burma, which handled administration, justice and royal decrees under the Toungoo and Konbaung dynasties. Its ministers, the wungyi, met in a hall within the palace and could act on the king's behalf. The name was revived for the Burmese parliament after independence and is used for the national and regional legislatures today.
