Vikramapura
Vikramapura was the capital of several dynasties of eastern Bengal, in what is now Munshiganj district south of Dhaka in Bangladesh. The Chandras, Varmans and Senas ruled from it between the 10th and 13th centuries, and by tradition it was the birthplace of the Buddhist scholar Atisha. Excavations at Raghurampur and Nateshwar have uncovered Buddhist monasteries.
