Wädenswil

Also known as Wadenswil

Wädenswil is a town on the south-western shore of Lake Zürich in the canton of Zürich, Switzerland. It belonged to the Knights Hospitaller until Zürich acquired it in the mid-sixteenth century and made it a bailiwick. In 1645–1646 its villagers took part in a revolt against new taxes, which the city suppressed with executions.
