War of the Burgundian Succession
The War of the Burgundian Succession was fought from 1477 to 1482 over the lands of Charles the Bold, Duke of Burgundy, who died at Nancy. Louis XI of France seized the duchy of Burgundy and other lands, while Charles's daughter Mary and her husband Maximilian of Austria defended the Low Countries and won at Guinegate in 1479. The Treaty of Arras of 1482 divided the inheritance.
