Waterford

Also known as Vedrarfjord

Waterford is a city and port in south-eastern Ireland on the estuary of the River Suir. Founded by Vikings in 914, it is the oldest city in Ireland and was a Norse trading town until Anglo-Norman forces under Strongbow captured it in 1170. Henry II landed there in 1171, and it became a royal city of the Lordship of Ireland.
