Welshpool
Welshpool is a market town in Powys, mid Wales, near the River Severn and the English border. It grew up below the castle of the princes of Powys Wenwynwyn and received a borough charter in the 13th century. Powis Castle stands on its edge, and the town remains a centre for the surrounding farming country.
