Willamette Valley

The Willamette Valley is a fertile valley about 240 km long in north-western Oregon, United States, drained by the Willamette River between the Cascade Range and the Coast Range. Retired fur traders and missionaries farmed it from the 1830s, and it was the main destination of the Oregon Trail. It holds Portland, Salem and most of Oregon's population.
