Yamandú Orsi

Yamandú Orsi is a Uruguayan politician of the left-wing Frente Amplio who became President of Uruguay on 1 March 2025. A former history teacher, he served two terms as intendant of Canelones Department from 2015 to 2024 before winning the 2024 presidential election in a run-off. His victory returned the Frente Amplio to power after five years of centre-right government.
