Yongcheng

677–383 BCE · 7th century BCE

Yongcheng, or Yong, was the capital of the State of Qin from 677 to 383 BCE, near modern Fengxiang in western Shaanxi. Excavations have revealed its walls, palace and temple foundations and the great tomb attributed to Duke Jing of Qin, the largest pre-imperial tomb excavated in China. Qin rulers continued to perform major sacrifices there after the capital moved east.
