Yuezhi
The Yuezhi were a nomadic people who lived in the region of the Gansu corridor in north-western China in the late first millennium BCE. Defeated by the Xiongnu in the second century BCE, they migrated westwards to Central Asia, where one branch later founded the Kushan Empire. Accounts of the Xiongnu Empire discuss their defeat as part of the empire's rise and its wider impact.
