Zhang Mao
Zhang Mao was the ruler of the Former Liang state in the Hexi Corridor of north-western China from 320 to 324. He succeeded his brother Zhang Shi after his assassination, and the state's independent existence is conventionally dated from his accession. Facing pressure from Han Zhao, he accepted its nominal overlordship while keeping his family's formal loyalty to the Jin dynasty, and he was succeeded by his nephew Zhang Jun.
