The Zuo Zhuan is an ancient Chinese narrative history covering the period from 722 to 468 BCE, arranged as a commentary on the Spring and Autumn Annals of the State of Lu. Traditionally attributed to Zuo Qiuming, it was probably compiled in the fourth century BCE. It is the main source for the politics, wars and diplomacy of the Spring and Autumn period and a model of classical Chinese prose.
