Diyodar State
Origins
Diyodar, also spelled Deodar, was held by a Vaghela Rajput family in the plains north of the Banas river. The register dates it to around 1700, though its founding is known mainly from tradition.
Rule and society
The Thakor ruled a dry territory of millet and grazing land. In the British period Diyodar was a minor state under the Palanpur and later the Banas Kantha Agency. Little else is recorded.
Decline and legacy
Diyodar merged into Bombay Province in 1948 and became part of Gujarat in 1960, in Banaskantha district.
Few sources survive for this state; details are uncertain.
