Abimilki

14th century BCE · 14th century BCE

Abimilki was king of Tyre in the 14th century BCE, during the Amarna period, when the city was a vassal of Egypt. About ten of his letters to the pharaoh, almost certainly Akhenaten, survive among the Amarna letters. In them he professes loyalty, reports news from the Levant and complains that the king of Sidon has cut his island city off from water, wood and supplies.
