Acolhua
The Acolhua were a Nahua people of the eastern Valley of Mexico, whose rulers claimed descent from Chichimec migrants led by Xolotl. Their capital, Texcoco, became under Nezahualcoyotl in the 15th century a partner of the Mexica and of Tlacopan in the Aztec Triple Alliance. The Acolhua realm was famed for its laws, poetry and architecture.
