Texcoco
Texcoco was a major city-state on the eastern shore of Lake Texcoco in the Valley of Mexico and one of the three members of the Aztec Triple Alliance. Renowned as a centre of law, poetry and learning, especially under its ruler Nezahualcoyotl, it received two-fifths of the alliance's tribute revenues. Factions of the Texcocans sided with the Spanish during the conquest.
