Áed Find

d. 778 · 8th century · Also known as Áed mac Echdach

Áed Find was a king of Dál Riata of the Cenél nGabráin, whose death the Irish annals record in 778. In 768 he fought the Pictish king Ciniod in Fortriu, and he is credited with restoring a measure of Dál Riata's independence after a period of Pictish overlordship. Later tradition remembered the laws of Áed as a standard for the Gaels.
