Aerial bombardment

Aerial bombardment is the use of aircraft to drop bombs or other munitions on military or civilian targets. Italy was among the first states to use it in war, in Libya in 1911, and the Italian Empire employed it extensively in the invasion of Ethiopia in 1935–1936, including chemical weapons. Its use against forces with little air defence contributed to the defeat of the Ethiopian Empire.
