Ager Gallicus

The Ager Gallicus was the coastal strip of the Adriatic in northern Marche, Italy, once settled by the Gallic Senones. Rome conquered it in 283 BCE, founded the colony of Sena Gallica, and in 232 BCE divided it among Roman settlers under the land law of Gaius Flaminius. The name means the Gallic land.
