Al-Abbasiyya
Al-Abbasiyya was a palace city founded in 800 or 801 by Ibrahim I ibn al-Aghlab a few kilometres south of Kairouan, in present-day Tunisia. It served as the seat of the Aghlabid emirs of Ifriqiya until Ibrahim II moved the court to the new palace city of Raqqada in 876. Little of it survives above ground.
