Tunisia

Also known as Tunisian

Tunisia is a country in North Africa on the Mediterranean, corresponding largely to the ancient region around Carthage. It was the heartland of the Punic Empire, later the Roman province of Africa, and in the medieval period part of the Almohad Caliphate, whose empire stretched from the Atlantic to Tunisia. In the Second World War it was the scene of the final Axis defeat in North Africa, which accounts of the Italian Empire place in its decline.
