Andrew III of Hungary

c. 1265–1301 · 13th century

Andrew III was king of Hungary from 1290 and the last male member of the Árpád dynasty. His reign was marked by the growing power of barons such as Matthew Csák, who built regional domains as royal authority weakened. His death in 1301 led to a contested succession, won by Charles I of the Angevin house.
