Aniba

Also known as Miam

Aniba, ancient Miam, was a town on the Nile in Lower Nubia, in what is now southern Egypt. A Middle Kingdom fortress there grew into the administrative centre of Wawat under the New Kingdom, the seat of the deputy for Lower Nubia, with a temple of Horus and large cemeteries. The site now lies under Lake Nasser.
