Annaba
Annaba is a port city in north-eastern Algeria, near the ruins of ancient Hippo Regius, the see of Saint Augustine. Known in medieval and early modern times as Bona or Bône, it was a target of European raids, including a sack by the Tuscan Knights of Saint Stephen in 1607. It became a French colonial port after 1832 and is now one of Algeria's largest cities.
