Antequera
Antequera is a town in the province of Málaga, Spain, at a crossing of the routes between Seville, Granada and Málaga. A frontier stronghold of the Nasrid Emirate of Granada, it was taken after a long siege in 1410 by the regent Ferdinand of Castile, later Ferdinand I of Aragon, known thereafter as Ferdinand of Antequera. Nearby are the Antequera Dolmens, prehistoric megalithic tombs that are a World Heritage Site.
