Apollonia (Cyrenaica)
Apollonia was the ancient port of Cyrene in eastern Libya, at modern Marsa Susa. It grew from Cyrene's harbour into one of the five cities of the Pentapolis of Cyrenaica, and in late Roman and Byzantine times, renamed Sozousa, it became the leading city of the province. Much of its harbour now lies under the sea.
