Ardiaei
The Ardiaei were an Illyrian people of the eastern Adriatic, living around the Neretva valley in the 4th and 3rd centuries BCE. Their kings Agron and his widow Teuta built a powerful state whose piracy provoked the First Illyrian War with Rome in 229 BCE. Rome later broke their power and in 135 BCE resettled them inland, away from the sea.
