Arkansas

Arkansas is a state of the south-central United States, west of the Mississippi River, with its capital at Little Rock. Its south-west was part of the homeland of the Caddo, and the region passed between France and Spain before the Louisiana Purchase of 1803. Admitted to the Union as a slave state in 1836, it seceded and joined the Confederacy in May 1861.
