Arnhem

Arnhem is a city in the eastern Netherlands on the Nederrijn, capital of the province of Gelderland. It received town rights in 1233 and was the chief town of one of the four quarters of the Duchy of Guelders. In September 1944 it was the target of the Allied airborne Operation Market Garden, whose failure to hold the bridge there became known as a bridge too far.
