Geldern
Geldern is a town in the Lower Rhine region of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, near the Dutch border. Its castle was the early seat of the counts of Guelders, who took their name from it, although their county and later duchy grew mainly to the north. The town stayed Spanish after the Dutch Revolt and passed to Prussia in 1713 as part of Upper Guelders.
