Person
Gelimer
Gelimer was the last king of the Vandals in North Africa. In 530 he deposed his pro-Roman cousin Hilderic, giving Emperor Justinian a pretext for war. Belisarius defeated him at Ad Decimum and Tricamarum in 533, and after a winter besieged in the mountains he surrendered in 534. He was paraded in Belisarius' triumph at Constantinople and given estates in Galatia.
