Berber Revolt
The Berber Revolt was a series of uprisings in North Africa between 739 and 743 CE against the rule of the Umayyad Caliphate. It was triggered by grievances among Berber converts, including Arab officials' refusal to treat them as equals in the division of conquered land. The revolt showed that the empire's peripheral populations could not be held by force alone and contributed to the Umayyad decline.
