Aterno-Pescara
The Aterno-Pescara is the main river of Abruzzo in central Italy, known in its upper course as the Aterno and below Popoli as the Pescara, reaching the Adriatic at the city of Pescara, the ancient Aternum. Its valley linked the mountain peoples of the region, the Vestini, Paeligni and Marrucini, with the coast.
