Chieti
Chieti is a city in Abruzzo, central Italy, on a hill above the Pescara river near the Adriatic. As Teate it was the main town of the Italic Marrucini and later a Roman municipium, with temples, baths and a theatre. Its Latin name gave the Theatine order its name, as its founder Gian Pietro Carafa, later Pope Paul IV, was bishop of Chieti.
