Bad Reichenhall
Bad Reichenhall is a spa town in south-eastern Bavaria, near the Austrian border. Its brine springs were worked from prehistoric times, and in the Middle Ages its salt was a main source of wealth for the Bavarian dukes and the archbishops of Salzburg, carried along salt roads across southern Germany. Salt is still produced there today.
