Bae Jung-son

d. 1271 · 13th century

Bae Jung-son was a Goryeo military officer who led the Sambyeolcho units in revolt in 1270, when the court returned to Kaegyong and accepted Mongol overlordship. The rebels proclaimed the royal kinsman Wang On as king and sailed to Jindo island, where they built the Yongjang fortress. A Goryeo and Mongol army stormed Jindo in 1271, and Bae Jung-son is believed to have died there.
