Ballarat

Ballarat is a city in central Victoria, Australia, founded after gold was discovered there in August 1851. It became one of the richest goldfields of the Victorian gold rush, and in 1854 its miners rose against licence fees at the Eureka Stockade. It remains a major regional city, with grand buildings from its gold-rush wealth.
