Bangka
Bangka is an island off the east coast of Sumatra, Indonesia, part of the province of Bangka Belitung. Tin was found there around 1710, and under the Sultanate of Palembang and later Dutch rule it became one of the world's main tin producers, worked largely by Chinese miners. The Dutch took direct control in the early 19th century.
