Banu Taghlib
The Banu Taghlib were an Arab tribe of the Rabi'a group, settled in the Jazira of upper Mesopotamia in late antiquity. Largely Christian before Islam, many kept their faith under the early caliphs, who taxed them on special terms. The Hamdanid dynasty, which ruled Mosul and Aleppo in the 10th century, came from the tribe.
